GUIDELINES FOR IMPORTERS AND LOCAL MANUFACTURERS
Commodities imported and manufactured locally should be fit for the purpose intended and safe for use. Here are some guidelines to help importers and manufacturers supply quality goods.
- Importers and manufacturers should select their suppliers carefully. Suppliers must be able to provide goods which comply with quality specifications.
- Manufacturers and importers of commodities monitored by the GNBS must ensure that commodities imported / manufactured comply with the requirements of the respective national standards.
- Where a brochure, instruction manual or leaflet, etc. is associat4ed with a commodity, it must be in the English Language and must relate to the commodity or particular model.
Instruction manuals/brochures must also include instructions for assembly in cases where the item is to be assembled by the buyer.
- All commodities imported or manufactured locally must be in metric units only.
